SOHH Exclusive: Sheek Louch Airs Out J-Hood, ''It's Over, He Can't Come Back To D-Block''
written by Brandi Hopper
Tuesday - March 18, 2008
Sheek Louch's third solo release, Silverback Gorilla, hit shelves today (Mar.18). SOHH caught up with the D-Block front man and chatted him up about his new project, beef with Mobb Deep and his real feelings about J-Hood.
"It ain't nothing," Sheek said of rap group Mobb Deep. "They good dudes. I like Havoc.
Prodigy dissed Sheek in his blog, listing rappers he respected and then calling Sheek "one of the worst ever."
"I know about all the comments Prodigy made about all the rappers, I still like him."
Former D-Block member J-Hood on the other hand..."He's a little clown acting like a little young boy would, just real unappreciative," Sheek told SOHH.
The rapper said he thinks J-Hood set his sights on beef with him because he needed someone to blame for his career not really taking off.
"Somebody gotta be the bad guy," Sheek said. "I took his money, I came in the studio and slapped him, I did this and that ... None of it's true."
And though Sheek did admit he thinks J-Hood has talent, he said there's no place for the former group-mate on a record with himself, D-Block or The Lox, ever.
"It's over," Sheek said. "He can't come back to me, he can't come back to D-Block, The Lox, nothing. Nobody wants to deal with him. They just don't respect his moves."
"I've known him since he was a young boy and when we hear him talking about bustin guns, us back at home, we like, 'aw, c'mon man, when did he resort to that?'" Sheek continued. "It's like, say you got a little brother or sister at home and they start actin' tough. Like now they murderers."
Louch said he, Styles P and Jadakiss gave J-Hood a chance in the industry and he's ungrateful.
"Dealin' with us three, he skipped a lot of stuff that a lot of artists go through," Sheek said. "We had him doing major interviews and major deals. Its people on the grind and been grinding longer than him. Somebody might say he ain't even have no grind."
But Louch said his grind is non stop.
His new album Silverback Gorilla has 18 tracks and every one of them the rapper said is fire.
"The concepts? Lyrically? Forget it," Sheek said. "I'm on a whole other level with this joint."
Fat Joe, Jim Jones, Hell Rell, Bun B, DJ Unk, The Game, up and coming D-Block artist Bully, and of course Styles P and Jada came through with guest features on the disc. Meanwhile Dame Grease, Vinny Idol, Soul G, Red Spyda and others went in on production.
The first single off the album "Good Love," a Red Spyda track, samples the soulful Betty Wright's "Tonight Is The Night," and is getting major nationwide radio play.
D-Block's album is dropping in July and Sheek said the Lox' disc Live, Suffer and Celebrate would be out before that, with a couple of tracks slated to leak shortly. Silverback Gorilla is in stores now via Koch Records.

What's up everyone, It's a New Year and I want to thank everyone that's been riding with me. Let me tell you what’s in store for 2008. First off I want to thank my whole staff at Vacant Lot / Lot Musik, Soul Pitch Media, and Black Watch Entertainment. Thank you to all the DJ's worldwide for showing love to my projects – I'd also like to thank all of the media outlets who showed me love this year, especially HHNLive, Scratch Magazine, AllHipHop, XXL / XXLMag.com, Bronxrap.com, SixShot, Nahright.com, HipHopRuckus.com , HipHopGame.com and all of the radio stations that spun music I produced.
A lot has happened in the past twelve months; the year started off strong when I was able to produce "Feds Takin Pictures" for DJ Drama and "Roc-A-Fella Billionaires" for Freeway and Jay-Z. I was fortunate to be able to complete my commercial comeback during the second half of the year by producing the Beanie Sigel/Styles P joint "You Ain't Ready", several tracks on new albums from Hell Rell and Styles, and also my own single "Sour Diesel" with N.O.R.E. and Styles.
I've got several ventures popping off in the New Year as well. I've founded a new online magazine called HipHopBrain.com that's going to serve as a Hip Hop resource from the perspective of the artists. The site is going to have a lot of artist involvement in terms of the content and will hopefully provide a more direct link between the music and the fans who love it. There will also be a Dame Grease / Vacant Lot music channel online on Open Vision TV in the near future.
I want to send a shout out to the non-profit organization Young Faces Smiling, Inc. The organization is made up of a pastor and school teacher who have developed a new curriculum that incorporates popular culture to help kids maintain an interest in the subjects they're studying. I'm a member of their board and they've done a lot of great work bringing in actors, gospel singers, and all types of entertainers to inspire kids to keep up with their studies.
And I look forward to working with all the new companies who we'll be building with in 2008.

DAME GREASE: LOT BLOG 1
Last week I was in Miami for the Ozone Awards to walk the red carpet and all of that. After the awards I ran into Rick Ross at a photo shoot and slid him some joints for his new project. While I was in Miami I also took my single "Sour Diesel" featuring myself on the hook, Nore, and Styles P up to the radio station so I could give it to them personally. It was crazy because they had actually been spinning "Drugs In The Club," which is the B-side to "Sour Diesel," but they didn't realize that it was me on that track. Even though "Drugs In The Club" was just the B-side it had already been getting a lot of play down in Miami.
So I made sure they also had a copy of "Sour Diesel," which is the lead-off single for my upcoming album (also called Sour Diesel). I just entered into a deal with Babygrande to release the album on November 6th. That deal came from the tremendous buzz that the single has been getting on the internet and other media outlets. The record was building a lot of momentum, so off the success of that we were able to work out a deal. We'll be shooting a video for that soon, and we also shot an internet only video for another joint on the album called "Connecticut Cush" with Max B and Messiah.
As soon as I got off the plane from Miami I had to run out to grab some new clothes so that I could head over to Keyshia Cole's birthday party. Loon, Ray J, Lil' Kim, and a lot of other people were there too. Things have been real busy lately, other than my own album I've also been doing a lot of outside projects. I produced the new Freeway single "Big Spender" featuring Jay-Z, and hopefully we'll be shooting the video for that soon. I Also have the DJ Drama single "Feds Takin' Pictures" that I produced and several joints on Hell Rell's album.
I'm also doing another film score, I can't even really talk about it yet but I'll be doing that soon. I've got a lot of things coming up that I'll be talking about in future blogs, so stay tuned for Lot Blog Volume 2…
